How Nurses Can Help The Society In Prevention Of Different Diseases (Dissertation Sample) Content: Health Promotion Name Institution Date Health Promotion What is one way that you, as a nurse, can take a more active role in health promotion/disease prevention with your patients and within your community? It is possible to find people suffering from various diseases, but they do not know the type of medical help to look for, and others remain uncertain on the issue. As a nurse, I see the kind of healthcare that patients deserve, and I can facilitate the access. There are services offered by medical institutions, especially the preventive ones like immunization and cancer screening, which patients miss. In my profession as a nurse, I will be able to provide appropriate guidance and counseling to the patients on the importance of those services, and finally, provide direction on how they can receive the services because it is their right. According to the World Health Organization, nurses can play a huge role in providing education on health care to the society. As a nurse, I can form a partnership with various groups in the community offering a different form of assistance to the people, like the church ones. Through the groups, we can hold events and educate people on various aspects of health care and how they can prevent themselves from contracting diseases, especially the ones associated with poor nutrition. Consequently, as a nurse, I am qualified to provide education on various matters like practicing safe sex together with refraining from drug abuse (ââ¬Å"The Role of the Nurse in Preventative Health Careâ⬠, 2018). The community will get relevant knowledge on how they can prevent themselves from contracting infections by taking appropriate protective measures.
